The Vancouver Whitecaps have signed two players from their Residency program, adding homegrown midfielders Kianz Froese and Marco Bustos. Froese will join the team immediately while Bustos, who signed a pre-contract, will be added to the roster in January. Froese made his Whitecaps debut in the Canadian Championship semifinal against Toronto FC where he played 77 minutes. "Kianz has a great technical element to his game and an athleticism that will serve him well as he steps up to the next level," said Whitecaps head coach Carl Robinson. "Hes worked hard to earn this opportunity and were excited to see him continue his progression." Bustos, meanwhile, also made his debut against Toronto FC in the Canadian Championship and was previously runner-up for 2012 Canadian U-17 player of the year.
